Six Flags Magic Waters Waterpark

Just 10 minutes from The Mulford Complex, find yourself in a Six Flags water park. Generally open Memorial Day weekend through late August.

Rockford City Market

Every Friday 4-8:30pm mid-May to after Labor Day (7:30p after Labor Day). Features local growers and vendors with handmade products, fresh produce, meat, cheeses, flowers, baked goods, wine, prepared food, as well as artisans. Also visit the Indoor Rockford City Market throughout the year with five small businesses open daily: Crus & Crumbles, Velvet Robot Coffee Lab, Guzel, Quixotic Bakery and 815 Yoga Collective.

Anderson Japanese Gardens

Visitors join in from Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison to see the truly inspiring Anderson Japanese Gardens. Spring through fall catch brunch on site.  

Snow Park at Alpine Hills

If you're lucky to have snow during your stay - a little time snow tubing at the Snow Park at Alpine Hills before a hot tub warm up with hot cocoa might be calling your name. 

Lake Geneva

Less than an hour away, Lake Geneva makes for a lovely day excursion. Take a guided cruise on a local tour boat. Dine in a local cafe after shopping. Make sure to check out Topsy Turvy Brewery in a former historical church.

Rock Cut State Park

Just 10 minutes north of The Mulford Complex, find yourself immersed in nature at Rock Cut State Park. All seasons - Hike, bike, paddleboat, canoe, cook out, explore. 

Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens

Situated along the banks of the beautiful Rock River in Sinnissippi Gardens, the Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens brings the tropics to the Midwest. With a total of 22,000 square feet, a tropical setting includes a plant exhibition area complete with water features, seating areas, and sculptures. Check out events during your stay like The Secret Life of Butterflies or Sip and Sample.

Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Garden

As one of Rockford, Illinois’ top outdoor family-friendly destinations, there’s something for everyone. Kelhm's 155 acres of woodlands and botanical gardens feature a children’s garden, 1.4 miles of paved paths, 3 miles of wooded trails and much more!

Visit Galena, IL

90 minutes feels like a drive - but wow is this the cutest town in the state of Illinois. The shops are delightful, local eats are fantastic. If you're feeling like climbing a set of stairs to heaven - get on it; if not, you can drive it. We love this beautiful town.

Just 70 minutes east from the home you'll find Wilmot Mountain (Vail-owned resort), 90 minutes north Cascade Mountain Resort, or 90 minutes west in the adorable town of Galena, IL, you'll find Chestnut Mountain Resort. 

Aldeen Golf Course

If you walk through the Rockford Arboretum next to The Mulford Complex, you'll walk right onto the greens of Aldeen Golf Course. While not the recommended route, the course offers 18 championship holes with expertly manicured greens, tees and fairways, challenging water hazards on 12 of 18 holes, and 62 sand bunkers.
